I think that the movie went well, and I am very happy about it. Maybe there are some problems with the sound, but these are minor and even some of them are not my foult (the unwanted techno-music at the end). However, even through my sound is poor, I have added much more effects than any other group I have seen recently.
The editing went very well, I have added lots of upgrades from my rough cut and the slow motions were repaired. Some people told me to make my film in back and white, however I don't think that is a good idea because the light is very important in every movie. Black and white movies are from '40s, not 2011.
Even through I had to rush with my titles, I personally think they went really well and quite effective. Letters are stylish and jumping around, making the tempo rising up. Also, I have put them in correct positions, and the black colour works well with the background and placement.
Unfortumately, I will have to miss movie cast in cinema because of visit to dentist. Normally I would delay the appointment, but I need to take care of my teeth :P I will ask my friend to record everything on his Iphone. Thank science for convergence!:)
If i had more time, I would do much more. More edit. More sound. Better sound. Better effects. But there is not enough time! Even through I think I went well comparing to others are I need to remember that I was working all by myself. SO EVERYTHING ARE MY SKILLS. Not my team-mates. And I am very glad I was working alone, because I could show part of my skills.
I want to thank my teachers for their help, and especially our tech-team because I had a LOT of problems with disk and sound. I am very glad that I've chosen media studies, because I have never enjoyed any subject that much as this. THANK YOU!

LiveType
So the time came to make my titles, however I already am out of time! I cannot lie, and I must admit that I made it as fast as possible. However, I got a little lucky because I've prepared myself before and I knew exactly what to do...
On the beggining of the film, I did put "starrings" to begin with. I used Solid bold font and some great animations. The letters were jumping and flashing, and altogether the effect was fantastic. Then, there was "Editing", Music", and "Director" All of them with the same effects and sizes.
You might wonder why is director before the titles. I thought that breaking the rules might look more cooler, and I am concerned that the Movie title is more important than the director itself. Director doesn't do that much comparing to his people. It's not like I don't care at all about directors - but I don't feel that they deserve all the glory and the "best spot" as the last title sequence.
As I said, the last one is the Title with a great font that I have sound on the LiveType section. All of those were created by profesionals and it looks amazing. The font size is little bit bigger than previous ones, but I cannot remember excacly.

Sound
I created the soundtrack by myself, but I had quite a lot of problems with cutting it correctly and making other sounds co-operate with it. Sometimes I wasn't able to hear footsteps or car because of loudness of soundtrack.
I found some good effects like: car driving by, tramway inside, walking, running, running on snow, bird singing, slap or clicks etc. It really is difficult to manage it. Every sound effect must be perfectly cooperating with movie, so lots and lots of cutting, copying, pasting...
The pitch
As I had to be absent on the day our class was doing "the pitch", I thought that I will present it right here!:) I also wanted to catch Annabel next avaliable lesson, but she seemed in hurry and she didn't really even looked inside to our class room.
Firstly, I will talk about the Title. I though that the film can be named "Run to the past", and the whole film would be about a girl that have some unknown illness. Everyday, at 3 o'clock she must at the gate. Later on, the audience will know that her mother died in front of her during the war, and she was also hit on head. The title would have something to do with the genre and the storyline.
The genre of my movie would be more likely action, as she is running across the city. The editing will be more dedicated to speed and cutting, as the action movies require. Unfrtunately, because of my unexpected trip to Poland, I will have record the movie in my house and city during the half term holidays. The city is named Elblag. This might be a good idea to show some different architecture and culteres other than British.
Sound will have to contain "an action" in itself. what I mean by that is the tempo must be very high and fast. Music should wake up the audience and make their hearts beat faster and faster! However, by creating the music alone I must know that it is very difficult and takes a lot of time.

Analysis of animatic -" Run to the past"
I did upload some pictures which show the movie at the different stages. It is just to let you know how the movie looks like, however it is pretty useless as I uploaded rough cut already:) well, I am kinda behind so need to catch up!
Photos are showing the movie at different angles and shot types, and there is more-less the same time difference between them. First photo shows the room from the high angle. This is a long shot type. then there is a close up to the clock, and when she wakes up - she press the button of radio to turn it off. This shot is very intresting because it show her from the front, and also you can see the buttons aswell.
Then there is a OTS shot when she runs to grab her coat. After that there are few shots that are showing her running across the city with a great architecture on a second plan. Next, a tramway. Close up to her face. She doesn't seem tired at all...:P
At last, we can see the big church from OTS shot, and a long shot of a gate where she's running to. The last shot describes her as disappointed and perhaps late. She seems quite upset and the audience might know that it was kinda inportant.
Rough cut analysis
The video is not really what I was hoping for, however I am not disappointed. In a time I've had to edit my video, I did quite a good job. Actually, most of that was made in my 3hs lesson on a rough cut day. As I wrote earlier, I wasted looots of time on rendering, switching disks and interview day.
I was not able to produce sound yet, however I did some good editing. Firstly, I tried everything to match perfectly. There were quite a few of good match cuts and I am proud of it. Also, the slow motions. Annabel said that she really likes the way I play with a speed of movie. I found it interesting aswell, however I don't have enough skill to impress anyone. YET!:)
From my movie I can see that there is huge amount of different shot types and angles. I was pretty exciting seeing that much shots, becuase other groups have a minimal amounts of them. I hope for some additional marks!:)
Also, I did some cutting in some scenes to make audience more satisfied and interested. Action film is preety much about good edit and music. IT REALLY IS DIFFICULT!! I really regret that I've chosen an action film, because editing is extremely hard and takes a lot of time to make it perfectly work. I haven't seen any action film in our media groups yet. Guess no one was brave enough...:)
Interview day at college
I have missed a longer session on editing because our school had a 2-day interviewing new students. Normally I would be happy to have that much time, but as it comes to the end of a year and a coursework cannot be done at home, it was a disaster. It's not only 3hs of session, but I also have 3hs of gap so it means that even thrusday missed is 6hrs of media wasted!
I asked teacher if it is possible to some to school and do some work, but the college is completely closed to students... gosh, I really wish I had Imac at home :)!

Preperation to editing - problems
PROBLEMS! Jeez!...
The first thing after rendering I realised that there is no sound at all. I have seen some people using their normal sound and just adding effects, which looks quite cool and more realistic. My recorded video has no sound at all. I really would be surpriced if I'll lose marks, because of lack of sound effects. I also must admit that watching video without sound is extremel BORING!
Later on, at some reason my disk kept ejecting itself automatically. I have lost quite a lot of work because of that, and also it took some time to sucessfully transfer my folder to another disk. So, even more time wasted...!

3 hours of wasted time very affected my overall work. I had problems to get on with a job, I needed to hurry up. ... Well, unfortunate. Problems are everywhere!:(
Comparing two different movies - openings
I think that every movie has a title sequence at the beginning. In fact, some of them have more information at the end of the film. I cannot really say what's the difference. People often do not care about title sequences at all.
I will be comparing two openings I've seen recently: "What lies beneath" and "Momento".
The information that is showing us "What lies beneath":
So let's say... the difference is huge. But what's the difference? Who would actually read it all? My opinion is that we should make as less as possible of titles. Make it simple!!

Candi studios beginning
I have been talking a lot with my friend Konrad about media lately. The had a great idea to change the animation of basic opening of Candi studios, as everyone else is using that. In past, he had some experience with programs and animation and he introduced me to program called Adobe after effects, which is fantastic and simple. Unfortunatelly, I doubt I will have enough time to create something on my own, however I can show you what he did and I think the animation is amazing. Much more better than college has.
Good example of opening movie
While looking at different blogs to look how are they doing and, perhaps, get some inspiration to write about I have found this movie:
I think that it has a great movement between scenes. What I mean that it shows excacly what is the movie about and keeps moving forward and back, and forward and back. They've used quite a lot of different camera shots and good range of angles. Probably, the most important aspect in this opening is a sound. They have used a soundtrack that has fast tempo, saying that it has something to do with action and speed. Some scenes are also speed up.
I think that this is how an action movie opening should look like, however my opening need to show some film and idea what is going on. The biggest difference between this opening and my movie are title sequences that I need to attach.

Planning real film
On one Annabel's lessons, when Bernand had a sudden change of mind about me and being in group, I've lost quite a lot of time from my 3hs lesson. Actually, it was a day of planning, but instead of that I was quite disappointed on media department and their understanding between them.
It was a scene that Dexter - well known blood analysist and secret murderrer - was running after his brother. The scene is very similar to the one I've made, however it is quite clear that I am unable to edit and record so perfectly like they did. But, I think that giving up on this idea would be idiotic....
As I gave up on my idea, I finally managed to do something helpful, and I watched some scenes from Dexter for inspiration. However, most of great scenes that can set a mood of great thriller were extremely difficult to create, not even mentioning doing it alone. So, when I've decided to take a closer look at one of the scenes where is quite a lot of action, I thought that is the one I can make with only someone to be an actor.

In one word - disaster!All what I had to is a very, very, very, very poor and mostly useless camera. And I really am not overreacting.
Actually, the camera I had was originally made to take photos. Well, luckly it had some other modes. My camera was absolutely useless on dark days or raining/showing, because without flash/light we were just recording darkness. I had to wake up quite early, because night comes quite quickly in winter. I've chosen one sunny day and took off with my movie star.
Another huuuge disadventage of my camera was that it didn't record sound at all! Now, I will have awful lot work to do with editing...

Songs - inspiration
We all know that songs create athmosphere of movie. It is very, very important, especially in movie I am creating. Good music is 80% of success. I will be probably creating a music on my own on PC, or try to find some good at tech room. I am showing you the type of music that I am interested in!
